MY HOUSE IS YOUR HOUSE: Since discovering the DJs Aurélien Haaas and Jeff Lasson aka Get A Room! at our opening parties at W Paris - Opéra we try to catch them when we can. Their cosmic mix of electronic house, deep house, electro, disco and Balearic has put this pair right on the map for us as DJs for summer 2012. We’re told the pair will be hosting Sunday sunsets at Wanderlust, the forthcoming and brand new night-club and events space that opens next week in Paris (more details to follow in the coming week) - Balearic Sundays ahoy? We’ll soon find out….
MATCH POINT: Romain Gavras, enfant terrible of international music video directors, has released another video rife with conflict and anger for Jay Z and Kanye West’s track ‘No Church In The Wild’. Essentially it’s just a load of blokes rucking with the police, the lyrics contain more depth but perhaps the artists wanted to keep the video simple. There’s no wry social comment hidden amongst all the pow! zap! pof! like there was with the MIA ‘Bad Girls’ video but hey, it’s unquestionably a beautifully shot and precisely acted piece of work that will now join the higher annals of pop history. Look out for the performances by the elephants and horses, an animal oscar to them all.

INTERVIEW: Cover artwork for the vinyl version of the new EP by Mathieu Lescop that’s still available in digital form. Need to know track: La Foret (vimeo). We interviewed Mathieu just minutes before he played a live gig inside the Armani store in Saint-Germain at the beginning of the month where he talks about his forthcoming LP, the story behind the making of the video to La Foret and the attention he puts into writing lyrics….
You re going to play for Armani tonight, how many tracks are you planning to play? Sixteen tracks and it will last a bit longer than half an hour
The third single from the debut album ‘I Thought I Was An Alien’ by Stéphanie Sokolinski who used to be a regular at the Pop In bar that was the hub for the nu-folk scene in Paris partly due to the fact that David-Ivar, lead singer from Herman Dune, DJed and hosted the Sunday night open mic sessions there….

JUNIOR BOYS OWN: Just released onto the internet and on the day when his latest EP stood at no.1 in the iTunes download chart, Woodkid’s new video for the title song Run Boy Run is another journey into the creative mind of its creator Yoann Lemoine. A music video director (Drake feat Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, The Shoes…) and musician, Lemoine’s visual play between gothic mystery, fairy-tale wonder and epic imagery continues….

Waveforms, the last single by Django Django is a perfect cut of pulsating indie pop with Beach Boys-esque harmonies layered over awkward beats and psychedelic keyboards. Hello Django Django! Buy on iTunes here
Waveforms, le dernier single de Django Django est la rencontre parfaite entre la pop indie dynamique et les harmonies Beach Boys-esque sur des beats étranges et des claviers psychédéliques.

MUSIC A GO-GO: As Cannes film festival begins in the south of France there are also plenty of Parisian live music festivals just around the corner starting with a week of concerts by independent record label Because Music which is home to Mademoiselle Gainsbourg and Django Django who we’re looking forward to seeing as there’s a lot of buzz about this new band in Paris right now.

Every Monday a DJ from Parisian agency Tête D’Affiche chooses five tracks for your week. This week LeAm, a DJ, remixer and music fanatic has been a resident at Le Baron and played in clubs in Singapore, Miami, New York, Belgium, the UK. In 2007 he made a compilation album ‘Your Fucking Melting Pote’, a mix of French pop, dance, boogie woogie and house that was warmly received in the US.
What’s new ? LeAm will be in Turkey at the beginning of the week then directly go on to Cannes for the film festival. After this Tunisia then back to France for two music festivals in june. What he says: “never stop, sensual & wild mix, feverish contamination of the dance-floor for a healthy sweat…”

1// Outlines - Been through it
I rediscovered this track from Outlines’ EP a few weeks ago, an insane song, a lot of my musical influences put together in a very catchy tune. Play on Deezer HERE
2// The Whitest Boy Alive - Fireworks
Some songs you can listen to 10000 times in a row and never be bored with them. This is in my opinion the perfect example. A straight production, effective, simple and really clever, a gem! Play on Youtube HERE
3// Herr Styler - Zero Ghosts Out The Door
When I first discovered this song, it really blew my mind. So many influences united in a track impossible to describe, just pure genius. Play on Youtube HERE
4// Stuck in the sound - Brother (Yuksek remix)
I’ve been playing this remix whenever I do a set for the last month. An instrumental sounding like Cindy Lauper mixed with the impeccable chorus that drives the dancefloor crazy. I predict this song will be one of the electro hits this summer, and I’m working on it! Play on Youtube HERE
5// Sébastien Tellier - My Poseidon
A gorgeous woman climbs out of the ocean on a sundeck, salt water slowing streaming down her skin, the sun piercing through the clouds in a magenta end of the world kind of feel…Visual, epic and sexual, the best track on Tellier’s latest album. Play on Deezer HERE
