APC 5 x Bands T-SHIRTS
PRINTED MATTER: It’s little known but Quentin Delafon, the ex frontman of French synthpop band The Teenagers, designs many of the prints on T’s and sweatshirts at APC. Also, in 1998, founder Jean Touitou had a working music studio built at the French labels head quarters and a stream of musicians both recording music and working at APC (sometimes both at the same time) has ebbed and flowed in and out of the doors ever since. Four bands who have found their stories entwined with that of APC have collaborated on t-shirts; Paradis, Connan Mockasin, Veronica Falls and The Rapture (images above) have been cast in cotton and the T’s are available until the end of August from all APC stores.
La Villette Sonique, the urban music festival held annually in the north-east of Paris opens this Friday so we’re previewing a few of the artists from the line-up of experimental artists, known and unknown. First up a podcast by a new producer from Marseille named 123Mrk who’s been marked as ‘post dubstep and UK garage’ and essentially zips and pings around the the musical pinball machine known as electronica. 123Mrk DJs alongside alongside Funkineven, Redhinho, Canblaster and Sonotown on Friday May 25 at Le Trabendo club that’s hosting the opening and after parties of the festival.

ONLY LOVE WILL BLOW YOUR MIND: A remix of a track named ‘Heading For The Fair’ from the forthcoming album by St. Etienne. Remixed by British producer Time And Space Machine aka Richard Norris who’s regularly attributed with making the first British acid house track ‘Jack The Tab’ in the 80s, this remix is part of a package that includes remixes by Erol Alkan, Tom Middleton and 2Bears. St. Etienne, a British electronic pop group, named themselves after the French football team in 1990. ‘Words And Music By Saint Etienne’ will be their eighth studio album released on May 21 via Heavenly Recordings.
